By whistle blower I mean an individual who shares public information that is being kept secret that directly effects others quality of life. The Oxford American dictionary defines whistle blower as one informs on another or an organization involved in illicit activity.
The news is full of whistle blowers: whether its the IRS irregularities, or the VA scandal, or Edward Snowden a former CIA employee revealing National Security illegal spying on American citizens-there is a time and place for whistleblowers.
Jesus was a whistleblower on the religious establishment of his day. In in his teaching about the seven woes he says: “They tie up heavy burdens, hard to bear and lay them on people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to move them with their finger-Matthew 23: 1-36.” Jesus is razor sharp in his positive analysis of the troubles with the religion of his day. He was more than a whistle blower; He was and is God’s Messiah.
So, don’t let someone else do your thinking for you. Know what you believe and why you believe what you do spiritually. Be wiling to be accountable to others and hold others accountable as well! It’s your choice. Be true to your conscience and to God or follow the herd mentality of everyday culture! Like Jesus be a whistle blower-not just a gossip.

Why? Because people’s bubble is out of place! Let me explain. Building anything involves knowing whether what you have built is level. Eventually a tool came along called a level. When the bubble is in the middle of the level the whatever is LEVEL .
This same principle applies spiritually? How do you know your life is out of whack? Jesus Christ, you see is God’s instrument to help us know how to be level with God! How are we level with our neighbor? Jesus is clear: Love the Lord, and love your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:36-40). Our problem is that we don’t know what it means to really love our neighbor because we aren’t sure what it means to love ourselves in a spiritually healthy way, much less love God.
Back to the Soul Cafe at 109 West Main. Tonight in the parking lot of the church I pastor a police officer stopped a teenager on the street. I just happen to look out my kitchen window and before I knew it a small crowd of teenagers gathered around the police officer and teenager. The officer searched the teenager and found a drug so therefore the young teenage man was handcuffed and put in the back of the police car. The young man’s parents showed up and I got into an interesting conversation with them. I mentioned that young people need a drug free place to hang out. All ages need a non churchy place to engage in conversation about the real issues in life. Like what it means to be on the level in life…with God…with family…with your neighbor.

What about the weather inside of you? As easy as it is to catch a cold-it’s easy to catch the virus called being disillusioned. Disillusioned means-disappointment resulting from the discovery that something is not as good as one believed it to be (American Heritage Dictionary).
It results from putting your trust in other people or things instead of first Jesus Christ. Maybe its putting faith in a person running for political office, or in a football team or a stock on wall street, children, or relatives-only to be disappointed time after time! As catching a cold messes up your health-so being disillusioned damages your spirit. What’s the answer?
Paul, says: “I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want (Philippians 4:12). Realize life’s purpose is not to make you happy every moment! You weren’t born just for superficial happiness based on outward circumstances that change every few moments. You are created by Jesus Christ (God in the flesh) to be much more than just happy. You’re created to be content. To realize a contentment that comes from a walking and talking relationship with Jesus Christ, no matter what you are facing.
