Terrorism isn’t first political it’s spiritual. In this confusing, chaotic, meaningless prone world-let’s celebrate. Celebrate that by defeating the cross with His Resurrection Jesus Christ has shown us what real life is all about. Jesus is right when he says to you and me: “I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. 5 But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him (Luke 12:4-5).
Tonight-enjoy yourself-avoid the spiritual terror around you. Come on down to the Soul Cafe at 109 W. Main and be part not of what we call “Fall Festival” from 4-7pm. Fun, games, prizes, and a chili-cornbread feed fit for a King.
Sunday-we have Desert Praise offering a musical message! Praise God-Jesus has shown us how to overcome the spiritual terror of our day. Celebrate his love and power in your life. -Pastor John-Maureen
Jack o’ Lanterns came about because folks believed that carving a scary face on a pumpkin and lighting it up would actually scare away evil spirits from their home. The trick is on you if you believe this.
I recall years ago having a young couple speak to me about renting a home that previously was used by Satan Worshipers. Friends-evil spirits are real. I led an exorcism service of worship to rid that couple’s home of evil spirits.
Don’t be tricked into thinking that anything except Jesus Christ can conquer evil spirits. Take the existence of Satan seriously-for he is real. Better yet-Christ has proved himself real, for he overcame the power of death by going to the cross and rising from the dead. Like Peter understand: “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour (I Peter 5:8). Jack o’ lateens won’t keep you safe from evil Spirits. Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit will!
See ya Sunday-Pastor John and Maureen
What can of people do you look for? The good, the bad, or the ugly. What you look for is what you will find. Whether it’s people, books, music, or movies we all have a look on life, a worldview. If you look for the ugly vicious hustlers who are into terror you will find them. If we look for the bad we have law breakers. If you look for the good great people around you will find them.
This week I was out early and I saw this tremendous sunrise.Wow its all in what we look for. After splitting firewood, back on the road I noticed the beautiful “green velvet”. In front of me was a wonderful field of green wheat plants that had just broken through the top soil. Absolutely gorgeous. Caused me to sing the chorus to the song “How Great Thou Art.”
What and who are you looking for? God told Jeremiah what he is telling you and me: “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart (Jer 29:13).”
See ya Sunday! Your Servants for Christ- John and Maureen
Apathy is so much like the flu. It’s contagious. It’s passed from person to person. It effects our spirits, hearts, and emotions. Instead of getting involved in being part of the answer it’s so much easier to be apathetical.
An illustration here of ‘being part of the answer’ is the newly opened Soul Cafe. located at 109 W. Main in Ritzville. The Soul Cafe prevents crime. This gathering place provides a safe environment for people of all ages to have recreation and a place to hang out. The trained staff insures everyone within the Soul Cafe is responsible and treat each other by the Golden Rule. Instead of getting into trouble, prowling vehicles, or burglarizing homes- people of all ages can enjoy life. Like the Ritzville Water Park, the Soul Cafe is an asset to the people of Ritzville. Even Adams County thinks so. For the last couple of Tuesday nights the Juvenile Dept has been holding its ‘Strengthening Families’ program at the Soul Cafe.
So, get involved in giving back to your community in a positive way!
See ya Sunday. After worship we will celebrate a Baby Shower for Marie and Brandon Borth who will soon be blessed with a little boy!
See what’s right with life. Celebrate. Don’ be apathetical-get personally involved in the answer. Catch the answer, not just the flu.
